Along with a detailed review of the state-of-the-art, this book presents a novel scheme for simulation-optimization based on state-space surrogate modeling to solve coupled groundwater-agriculture problems in coastal aquifers, including saline water intrusion and water table drawdown. It also presents an example management problem and its solution(s) based on the proposed scheme for a coastal aquifer.
Autorenporträt
Tirthankar Roy is currently a PhD student in the Department of Hydrology & Atmospheric Sciences, University of Arizona, with a major in Hydrology. This book is based on his master's research in Technische Universität Dresden, Germany (with DAAD Scholarship) and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India (with MHRD Assistantship).
