3D Laser Scanner - a fast and reliable way to measure surroundings. Small Mirror Array - a work in progress by the Solar Institut Jülich to create a smaller, lighter and cheaper heliostat. The challenge - to measure blocking and shading losses of the Small Mirror Array Heliostat. The research question - is the 3D Laser Scanner the right equipment to use for various scanning purposes in the development and use of Small Mirror Array heliostats.
