This book focuses on the use of natural surfactants in enhanced oil recovery, providing an overview of surfactants, their types, and different physical-chemical properties used to analyse the efficiency of surfactants. Natural surfactants discuss the history of the surfactants, their classification, and the use of surfactants in petroleum industry. Special attention has been paid to natural surfactants and their advantages over synthetic surfactants, including analysing their properties such as emulsification, interfacial tension, and wettability and how these can be used in EOR. This book offers an overview for researchers and graduate students in the fields of petroleum and chemical engineering, as well as oil and gas industry professionals.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Neha Saxena is a researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). She gained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Aligarh Muslim University in 2012 and 2014, respectively, and her Ph.D. from IIT in 2020. She has experience working in industry, as well as her academic positions. She has co-authored one book, numerous journal articles and conference papers, two of which she was awarded prizes for.Dr. Ajay Mandal is Professor and Head of Department of Petroleum Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad. He is awarded with FRSC Fellow Award from RSC. He has co-authored many books, numerous journal articles and conference papers, for which he has been awarded prizes. Wide experience in academics of almost 20 years and 150+ Publication in reputed journals.
