This book refers to the influence of the design and erection system over the technical performances of the high-power synchronous hydro-generators.The scope of this thesis is to emphasize the main causes which lead to the limitation of the power performances, the analysis of the main criteria determining the frequent taking out of operation of the hydro-generators, the proposal of scientific assessment solutions on the state of the generators and the analysis of the solutions to minimize the drawbacks. The work also includes perspectives of implementation of the conclusions, in the rehabilitation works of the high-power hydro-generators which have shown low performance as well as in the design of the new production capacities.
