The aim of this book is to investigate theoretically the energy management in heat pump assisted distillation column using binary mixture. These distillation columns lower the total costs involved in the process by decreasing the requirement of hot utilities and cold utilities. The incorporation of heat pump necessitates critical analysis as the addition of several new devices require additional capital costs, thus challenging economic viability of the modified configuration. This book includes the determination of hot and cold utilities by graphical method as well as the simulation of distillation column. Economic analysis of the heat pump assisted distillation configuration has been compared to that of conventional distillation column.

Dr. Doraj Kamal Jamuwa, who obtained M.E and Ph.D. respectively from IIT Roorkee and MNIT, Jaipur is serving as Assistant Professor at Govt. Engg College, Ajmer, India and has authored numerous research papers in peer-reviewed international journals besides having worked as Principal investigator in two sponsored research projects.
