Ways for evaluating system faults, impacts and design are suggested from practical experience, testing to planning in many disciplines and international field cases. Methods of training, testing, lifecycle costing, unit pricing, benefit for resources, comparing scenarios, disaster mitigation, regulations, people responses, matrix management, business planning, are outlined then applied in specific cases. Cases include the failure of exhaust axial fan blades, of a mall central plant chiller, the impacts of Mekong Delta development, saving mangroves about SE Asia to control coastal erosion, measuring the four surface weathering of glazing materials with a photometer, of glare responses in visual tasks, the design of freeway with towns development in coastal Johor, Tangerang and across Kalamantan, a mirror ceiling daylighting prototype with model simulation in a classroom, assessing indoor air quality, industrial lift design, an economic evaluation of solar electric classroom lighting compared with daylighting, of lighting efficiency and economics in Kathmandu for the World Bank, The pseudoscience of the political Green Movement and Kyoto Protocol is discussed.

John Halldane has a doctorate in architecture, science degree in math with physics, town planning masters from Auckland, NZ. He evaluated a variety of interdisciplinary international systems as consultant, planner, scientist, professor, engineer, psychophysicist, contributor to technical committees and researcher with many unique publications.
