Global efforts continue to be directed towards furthering the understanding of supersonic combustion as it occurs in scramjets. Advancements are being made in both fundamental and experimental research. This text presents the efforts of research conducted in the area of numerical simulation and modeling of high speed combustion. There are numerous fluid dynamic phenomena to independently research within the area of supersonic combustion. The focus of this book is on combustion in the boundary layer of high speed flows and on detonation wave stabilization as it applies to scramjets.
Autorenporträt
Ryan J. Clark holds a B.A. in mathematics from Denison University, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University. Clark and his advisor, S.O. Bade Shrestha, published a review of numerical simulation and modeling of combustion in scramjets in the Journal of Aerospace Engineering.
