Plant design engineers must equip themselves to deliver a layout that addresses safety, quick construction and operation, easy maintenance, minimal downtime, maximum profitability, easy access to safety equipment. Traditional design blueprints have been replaced by Computer-aided Design (CAD) systems that incorporate new goals. Predictive maintenance means avoiding accidents & machine failure, preventing downtime and increasing the profitability of the entire plant. Advance software modeling and sketching tools have improved Front-end engineering Design(FEED) resulting in a higher return on investment (ROI). The combination of equipment modeling, P&IDs and routing and interference checks on a single CAD platform saves time and allows a deeper understanding of simulation data. The success of the plant reliability team depends on how will it change behaviors by wielding influence and imparting knowledge within itself and in other functions. The result is a major loss of precision in how plant reliability is managed.
