Beschreibung

Mechanical alloying is the process of production of macroscopically homogeneous materials from heterogeneous mixtures. The process is implemented in laboratories in attritors, on the industrial scale in high energy ball mills. It is based on deformation, repeated disintegration and welding of powder particles during intensive dry milling. Process of severe plastic deformation was applied on composite materials in order to obtain nano-structures, and thus excellent strength and plastic properties. This monograph is focused on kinetics of mechanical alloying, quantification of microstructure parameters, evaluation of local mechanical properties, texture and microstructure stability, strength and plastic properties including superplasticity, characteristics of creep properties by small punch method as well as strain mechanisms by means of in situ tensile test in SEM of micro and nano Al-Al4C3 composites. The monograph is intended for scientists working in the field of materials engineering namely: preparation process, characteristics of microstructure and mechanical properties of composites strengthened by disperse particles.
