Productivity is an important parameter which influences the competitiveness of any organization, process or function. It is a measure of efficient transformation of resources into finished goods or services. The importance of productivity can be appreciated easily in a manufacturing industry as the inputs and output are tangible. This work attempts to suggest improvement in productivity through optimum resource allocation. The concept has been illustrated through a case study of a manufacturing industry in India.
