Urea Super Granule (USG) application in paddy filed is an innovative technology to reduce the nitrogen fertilizer losses in the field. Manual application of USG in the paddy field is a time consuming and laborious work, so USG applicator is demanded by the rice grower. Different models of USG applicator were developed by the scientist of Bangladesh, but these model had some problem regarding their performance like higher missing rate and uncomfortable to push the applicator. All of the available USG applicator was collected and selected the best one based on laboratory test. The best model was re-designed and most of the problems were solved and filed performance of the applicator was satisfactory.

Md. Shamim Ahamed, Lecturer, Department of Farm Power and Machinery, Bangladesh Agricultural University. He completed his bachelor of science in Agricultural Engineering and masters of science in Farm Power and Machinery from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He born in a remote area of Barisal district in Bangladesh in 1987.
