This book offers strong emphasis on diabetic retinopathy including different clinical as well as machine learning approach for detection of diabetic lesion symptoms, such as microaneurysms, hemorrhages, exudates and cotton wool spots. Automated detection of diabetic lesions decreases the workload of ophthalmologist and cost in diabetic retinopathy screening program. Early and timely treatment of diabetic eye significantly reduces the risk of vision loss.

Dr.Hitesh Shah,a Professor & Head,EC Department of G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology,Vallabh Vidyanagar,Gujarat.He holds Ph.D. and M.Tech degrees from IITDelhi, IITRoorkee respectively. His teaching and research stints span of 19 years at this college.His current research interests in Machine Learning and its applications.
