The monograph addresses the theoretical basis and the methods of practical solution of the primary problems of ballistic design of strategic missiles and space launch vehicles. The book generalizes the experience in missile design gained by Yuzhnoye SDO (State Design Office) and their subcontractors. The book looks at the main objectives of missile ballistic design. The author pursued an aim to state the problems from the standpoint of practical design of ballistic missiles and space launch vehicles. Much attention is given to the problem statement, detection of the physics of the processes, rational simplification of the mathematical models, and discussion of contiguous problems. The book is intended for specialists in rocket and space technologies and students of aerospace universities.
