Magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4) was successfully synthesized through Sol-gel method. The synthesized Magnetite nanoparticles characterized with TEM, EDAX, SEM, VSM and other techniques. Magnetite nanoparticles have been synthesized by sol-gel method demonstrated very good application in removal of discharged hexavalent chromium from wastewater, high surface area to volume ratio and high ability to absorption of Cr(VI) in basic pH. Since super paramagnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4) has magnetic property can be easily removed by simple magnetic field from wastewater.
