Biometrics is very popular and widely accepted technology for personal authentication. The proposed work describes the fingerprint verification based on Discrete Wavelet Transform [DWT]. It is a new Image based approach for fingerprint verification. Haar wavelet is used for decomposition of the fingerprint image. Decomposition of the fingerprint image is carried out up to three levels. Then wavelet statistical features are extracted from decomposed fingerprint image. This wavelet based approach verifies the unknown fingerprint image with stored enrolled fingerprint images by using distance vector formula with better verification rate.

She is currently working as a Assistant Professor at Department of Computer Engineering, R.C.P.I.T, Shirpur(MS). She is working in the field of Image Processing, Biometrics and Wavelet.
