Research and development in energy sector demands multiple technology with innovative applications. It is very well known that water and energy are the two fundamental commodities required for higher development index of any society. Towards this direction several R & D institutions, organizations, industries are constantly working with new concepts. Solar, wind and biomass have emerged as the key resources for the development of renewable energy in recent years. In this book, an effort has been made to compile the applied science innovations in solar energy sector taken up by one of the foremost R & D energy institute in Gujarat- Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI).

Prof. T. Harinarayana has done two PhD's Edinburgh,UK and ISM,India (1988) He has over 100 publications. He has been awarded more than 25 awards in national and international in his research field. He has worked as Scientist 'G' in NGRI Hyderabad, India. He is currently Director of Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI), India
