Beschreibung

The book focuses on the basics of a number of evolutionary algorithms for electromagnetic optimization instances. It includes conventional optimization strategies like simulated annealing, particle swarm optimization, differential evolution along with their improved variants. Moreover, the text introduces several recently developed nature inspired metaheuristic algorithms like artificial bees colony optimization, fire fly algorithm and gravitational search algorithm. The book reviews the effect of mutual coupling on the operation of different array geometry using induced EMF technique. It presents a rigorous analysis of linear array antennas of half wave dipoles and optimizes the radiation characteristics of non-uniformly spaced and non-uniformly excited linear array of parallel and collinear dipoles considering mutual coupling using evolutionary algorithms: Particle Swarm Optimization and Differential Evolution. Coupling effect between the elements and analyzed using induced EMF method and minimized in terms of SWR. Numerical results obtained from both the algorithms are proved highly efficient and statistically compared to present a comprehensive overview.
