Characterization and Optimization study will play a significant role in providing useful information regarding the component and effect of processing parameters in production and will help identify those factors, which have been associated with high yield and quality that may exist. The aim of this research was to study the chemical composition and potential of producing pulp from lowland bamboo (Oxytenanthera abyssinica) by using soda-AQ method and identifying factors affecting pulping conditions. This book can serve as a reference for those who are interested in analyzing or utilizing bamboo resources in chemical and biochemical related products, mainly pulp and paper.

Mr. Amsalu Tolessa Mossissa has earned his M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering, with specialization in Process Engineering stream from Addis Ababa University. The author has been working as Researcher at Ethiopian Environment and Forest Research Institute (EEFRI), Bioenergy and Biochemical Research Division.
