This book clearly explains the drilling fluid in details. It provides an overview of drilling fluids, their properties and their various functions. It explains the properties of bentonite and sepiolite water based drilling muds and also explains the effects of aging time and temperature on the properties of drilling mud. Equally, the book explains the effects of additives at different concentration on water based bentonite mud samples.

Tariq Ahmed is a Lecturer at the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Bayero University Kano (Nigeria). He obtained his master degree in Petroleum Engineering. He currently a PhD Student at Teesside University (UK) and his research deals with the Optimisation of three Phase Separators.
