Refinery flares release a great amount of pollutants to the atmosphere. This makes them the major sources of air pollution. There are many methods for minimizing purge gas flaring in oil and gas refineries. In order to determine a suitable option for minimizing gas flaring in refineries, a comprehensive monitoring of flow and composition of flare gases and alternative choices for recovery of flare gases for different refineries were investigated in this book.

Dr. S.M. Jokar is an assistant professor in the department of chemical engineering Oil and Gas in Shiraz University of Technology, Shiraz, Iran. He earned his PhD, master's and bachelor's degrees in chemical engineering at Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran. He has authored 20 ISI papers. His works concerned with Flare system, environment and process.
