This book provides a comprehensive information about the nature of highway projects and existing procurement guidance used to deliver highway projects. In addition, this book presents an empirical comparison of design-build and traditional procurement systems in relation to project time, cost and quality. The findings of the research can potentially assist the client to select an appropriate procurement system for highway project, and greatly increases the understanding of individual procurement system performance. It would also help contractors to estimate the impact of the procurement route before bidding for any highway projects. Moreover, this book is intended as a supportive and informative guidance for construction practitioners.

Mr. Ghulam Abbas Niazi is Assistant Professor at Kabul Polytechnic University (KPU) since 2008. Mr. Niazi completed his MSc. degree in Construction Management at University of Brighton, UK. Mr. Niazi has published many papers in international conferences and journals. Mr. Noel Painting is a Senior Lecturer at University of Brighton, UK.
