Dieser wissenschaftliche Beitrag ist einem der wichtigsten Phänomene im Zusammenhang mit dem menschlichen Leben gewidmet, nämlich der Ausbreitung und Konzentration der Luftverschmutzung in der Atmosphäre. Much attention has attracted from the scientific community in the last decades for the evaluation of the spatial and temporal distribution of air pollution from both monitoring and modelling points of view at different scales. The present study describes the structure and chemical composition of the atmosphere and the important issues in the development of photochemical pollution in the Tropospheric level. Moreover, the structure of numerical models in addition to the fundamental equations of fluid mechanics governing the atmosphere dynamics in the atmospheric boundary layer are also investigated. In last chapter, two selected applications of local-scale and mesoscale simulations of air pollution are performed.

O Dr. Lakhdar Aidaoui é professor e investigador permanente a trabalhar na universidade de Djelfa, Argélia. Obteve os seus diplomas HDR, PhD, Magister e Engineer na universidade USTO em Oran, Argélia. O seu interesse de investigação actual centra-se na Dinâmica dos Fluidos Computacional (CFD), melhoramento da Transferência de Calor utilizando geometrias complexas, nanofluidos e MHD. Além da modelização ambiental, incluindo: dispersão da poluição, meteorologia e qualidade do ar.
