This book would be very useful to all procurement practitioners involved in construction procurement in public institutions. It highlight challenges in incorporating environmental sustainability into the construction procurement process. With efficient guidelines to incorporate environmental issues into procurement, buildings may be procured to be more energy and water efficient, use fewer resources over the life of the finished project, be flexible and adaptable both in use and to external conditions such as climate and would provide better outcomes for all involved that is designers, developers, procurement entities, consultants and end users. This book also highlights requirements and responsibilities necessary to promote more responsive environmental outcomes from construction projects.

Harold Adjarko is a young Quantity Surveyor and a researcher in construction procurement management. He is currently a lecturer at Takoradi Polytechnic and has years of experience in teaching construction procurement in tertiary institutions. He has Mphil, Procurement Management, and Bsc (Hons) in Building Technology, both from KNUST.
