The Limit State Method of design for water retaining structures results in economical and durable structures. IS:3370 put forward the LSM design provisions for water retaining structures. In the current book, LSM and WSM design methods are compared for various type of Reinforce Concrete water tanks. Limit State Method is found to address the crack depth issue in water retaining structures along with putting forward the economic aspect also.
