In this work, I am analyzing the different types of problems associated with a gas compressor in the GCP I, Geleky of ONGC, Assam Asset and study different methods using which anyone can reduce the maintenance time and hence ultimately reduces the shut- down time. The study will encompass the various components of GCP, various types of compressors and their main components in which failures occurred usually, different types of processes which are carried out in a compressor, different types of problems associated with compressor and their effects. And finally, different analysis methods which will pin-point the parts where problems exist. The study would help to understand how to reduce the compressor shut-down time and increase its efficiency.

Received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, from North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh, India in the year 2009 and M.Tech in Petroleum Exploration and Production from Department of Petroleum Technology, Dibrugarh University, Assam, India in the year 2012.
