Autorenporträt
Joe Amadi-Echendu earned BS and MS degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Wyoming, and DPhil in Control Engineering at the University of Sussex. Joe has served as a teaching assistant at Wyoming, research fellow at Sussex, lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt and Rivers State University of Science and Technology, and senior lecturer the University of Greenwich. Dr Amadi-Echendu currently serves as a tenure track Professor of Engineering and Technology Management at the University of Pretoria. Prof Amadi-Echendu founded an Institute of Engineering, Technology and Innovation Management at the University of Port Harcourt. Joe commenced his career as an apprentice maintenance technician at a tyre manufacturing facility, and his expertise is underpinned by his doctoral research in digital signal processing, condition monitoring, diagnostics and prognostics of engineered assets. His extensive experience includes 12 years work focused on managing engineered assets in resource extraction and minerals processing industry, as well as 30+ years in academia, including consultancy assignments in manufacturing and utilities sectors. Prof Joe's teaching, research and consulting experience has resulted in the publication of over 150 articles and 6 co-edited books in the multidisciplinary fields of Engineering Asset Management and Technology Commercialisation. Prof Amadi-Echendu is the founding editor-in-chief of Springer's Engineering Asset Management Review Series. He is a registered professional engineer in the UK and South Africa, and a member of a number of international institutions. Prof Amadi-Echendu is a founding fellow and currently serves as chairperson of International Society of Engineering Asset Management, as well as treasurer of the board of the International Association for the Management of Technology.
