This book presents the selected results of the 1st International Symposium on Applied Computers and Information Technology (ACIT 2013) held on August 31 - September 4, 2013 in Matsue City, Japan, which brought together researchers, scientists, engineers, industry practitioners and students to discuss all aspects of Applied Computers & Information Technology and its practical challenges.
