In this book, we present a practical guide to develop high-quality software projects with teams of young students. This context makes development different because students have different classes, timetables and objectives, that is, they are not full-time workers. We summarize the best practices that we obtained by performing a number of software projects with our industrial partners. This practical guide may be useful for professors and companies interested in hiring students for their teams. In Chapter 1, we present a general overview of the practical guide, which is described with details in Chapter 2. To easy understanding, we show an example project, in which we followed this practical guide strictly, as we depict in Chapter 3. Finally, we conclude the book in Chapter 4, by presenting the lessons learned and the concluding remarks.

Dr. Flávio Medeiros is a professor of the Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL), Brazil. He is the leader of the Center of Software Research (CPSoftware), a group that performs software projects with industry partners.
