Autorenporträt

Léon Brenig was born in Paris (France) and completed his Masters in Physics in 1970, PhD Thesis in Physics in 1974, both from Université Libre de Bruxelles, ULB (Faculty of Sciences), followed by a post-doctoral stay 1977 at University of Texas, Austin. He was Professor at Physics Department, ULB. Presently, he is Visiting Professor at the Physics Department, ULB. His research focuses on nonlinear dynamical systems, random processes and the foundations of quantum mechanics. Nikolai Brilliantov was born in Moscow (USSR). He received his MSc, PhD and Doctor of Science degrees in Physics from the Moscow (M.V. Lomonosov) State University in 1980, 1984 and 2000, respectively. He is a professor and director of the research centre of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), Russia, Moscow, and professor, chair in Applied Mathematics at the University of Leicester, UK. His research focuses on kinetic theory, far from equilibrium processes, pattern formation, granular gases and complex liquids. Mustapha Tlidi was born in Morocco. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the science faculty of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, in 1989 and 1995, receptively. He is a research director with the Belgian National Science Foundation (FNRS). His research focuses on systems far from equilibrium, nonlinear physics, laser physics, nonlinear optics and plant ecology.
