Canada is one of the United States main supplier of gas. As the weather conditions of this country are so extreme, these kilometric gas pipelines that are out in the open may be damaged. One way to see if the pipeline thickness has been damaged because of the weather conditions is to install a ring of ultrasonic wave transductors. The aim of this research is to make an introduction of how to simulate this ultrasonic guided waves with finite elements software.

Born in Barcelona the 12th September 1991 always been a passionate for reading, sport and motorsports.I started my university degree in Mechanical Engineering in the Univertitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2009 until 2013. My university studies were finished in the École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal, Canada where this research was written.
