Beschreibung

This book delivers a focused, in-depth exploration of functional optical coatingswith a special emphasis on anti-reflective (AR) and anti-glare (AG) filmsengineered to meet the performance demands of advanced electronic display systems. It presents detailed discussions on material selection, multilayer interference design, nano-textured surfaces, and thin-film deposition techniques, tailored to enhance image clarity, reduce visual noise, and improve durability across a wide range of display platforms. From flat displays to flexible formatsincluding foldable, stretchable, 360-degree wraparound, and conformable large-area 3D systemsthis publication examines how functional coatings are adapted for next-generation display form factors. It also addresses key mechanical and environmental challenges, such as thermal cycling, surface abrasion, and mechanical deformation, offering practical strategies for coating integration and stability. Combining materials science, surface engineering, and device-level insight, this book serves as a valuable guide for researchers, engineers, and developers advancing the future of high-performance, robust display technologies.

Autorenporträt

Abimbola Jacob Olasoji is a doctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Korea University, South Korea, where he conducts research under the supervision of Professor Sang Hyuk Im. His work centers on the synthesis of polymer nanoparticles, colloidal self-assembly, photonic crystals, interfacial fluid dynamics in porous systems, and the fabrication of inverse opal thin-films, with recent focus on titanium dioxide electron transport layers for perovskite solar cells. Sang Hyuk Im is a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Korea University and leads the Nano Energy Convergence System Lab. His research explores the design and application of metal halide perovskites for solar cells, LEDs, photodetectors, photobatteries, photocapacitors, and quantum sensing, alongside broader interests in functional nanomaterials and carbon-neutral energy technologies.
