This guide provides rules, recommendations, and techniques for conducting academic student thesis projects at the university level. It focuses on bachelor's and master's thesis projects, though most of its guidelines also apply to dissertation projects and other project types, such as academic papers or documents that do not meet academic standards. This guide is intended for students seeking advice on selecting, preparing, conducting, and presenting a thesis project, and for the supervisors who define these projects, support the students, and ultimately assess the results. Although the examples used are drawn mainly from Computer Science, the guidance is applicable to thesis projects across the engineering disciplines and the natural sciences.
