To ensure the quality of supply water in Chittagong, number of measures can be taken including the periodic monitoring of supply water, regularly cleaning the pipeline, supplying safe water, using proper chemicals, making supply water available at all times and installing a separate line for drinking water. Maximum utilization of water can be made be purifying the waste water, building awareness among the people and using water for vital causes. It has been suggested that Chittagong WASA should supply safe water but people should take the ultimate responsibility to boil and filter the same before drinking. Further, development of reservoirs system and water saving appliances in their house like an underground reserve tank, drum inside the house, well and pond might help the city dwellers in crisis time.
