Beschreibung

Three computational models, describing different biological and functional parts of human cochlea have been dealt in this work: a hydrodynamical model describing perceiving of mechanical impulses, an electrical model of human hair cells which transform it into electrical impulses, and a model of the auditory nerve. Every of those came from a different author and the goal of this work was to summarize the information from the models into a compact manual and analyze the transformation of the signal from the hair cells into an input for the nerve model. The numerical stability of the hair cells' model was also studied, inquiring whether it yields the adequate outputs depending on the little changes of the input parameters.

Autorenporträt

Alexei Chevko studied chemistry and physics in Prague. His interests included the mystery of a living human being and the abstract world of mathematics. His bachelor thesis was on modelling of the human cochlea. He later decided to leave science for a while and now he enjoys being an enthusiastic student of life and working with natural foods.
