The determination of an accurate working length is a critical step in endodontic therapy. Failure to determine the accurate working length can lead to failure of the endodontic therapy causing patient discomfort and reinfection as a result of the extrusion of the irrigants and necrotic debris beyond the confines of the canal. Traditionally various methods were used, but with the advent of the electronic apex locators, there is greater precision and fewer procedural errors and faster case completion.The various methods along with the recent advances for working length determination are very well highlighted in this current edition of Lambert publication.
