This book is about the diagnosis of periapical lesions and how to treat it non surgically in endodontics. Periapical lesions need to be differentially diagnosed into cystic and noncystic lesions as the treatment varies with their nature. For example small granuloma or an abscess may heal by nonsurgical treatment whereas a large cyst may require surgical intervention. The current treatment philosophy for periapical lesions lies in the favour of nonsurgical root canal treatment. If such treatment does not lead to resolution of periapical lesion, then additional treatment options should be considered.
