Nowadays with greater awareness, there is a demand for absolute aesthetics where cosmetic dental rehabilitation is concerned; even negligible difference in color matching is not acceptable to the patients. Due to which tooth color measurement and color replication have proven to be a complex challenge in dentistry. The process of matching a vital tooth to a completely different material is fraught with errors. To eliminate the potential sources of human error and to provide predictable results, advanced shade taking devices have been introduced. This book will shed some light on the optics and shade matching procedures used in dentistry.

Dr Virag Srivastava has done his BDS in 2008 and MDS in subject of Prosthodontics in 2011. He has special interest in aesthetic dentistry and has many professional awards to his credit. He is currently working as Senior Lecturer in College of Dental Sciences, BBD University, India and has authored many national and international publications.
