Bone plays an important role in homeostasis, by supporting metabolic exchange, providing main supportive mechanism to the body. It undergoes frequent formation and resorption throughout the life span. At times, many disturbances takes place which may hinder or abnormally accelerate the growth and development of skeleton. They lead to malformations which may affect an entire skeleton or a part of it. This book explains various bone pathologies under following headings: developmental, inflammatory,degenerative, metabolic, bone neoplasms and diseases of TMJ. This book gives a comprehensive description of macroscopic, microscopic, and radiological methods for the diagnosis of bone diseases and its management.

Ms. Gour is an Oral & maxillofacial pathologist. After completing her BDS, she worked in a corporate based dental hospital for a year. During her MDS course, she has presented papers in several conferences and authored four journal articles. Presently she is working as Assistant Professor in a dental college as a Onco pathologist.
