Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a zoonotic viral disease that is asymptomatic in infected animals, but a serious threat to humans. The virus is transmitted through the bites of ticks or by direct contact with blood or tissues from infected animals and infected persons.The aim of this study is to identify possible causative agents that have a role in the transmission and spread of Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever in different areas in Albania, to determine the impact of factors and to evaluate the clinical forms of the disease in Albania. The highest number of patients affected with Crimea Congo hemorrhagic fever was seen in 2003 and 2010. The majority of the cases was from Has and Kukes. The seasonality was related with the spread of the disease, where the highest cases are seen in May and June. Symptoms were fever, headache, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting and abdominal pain. Regarding laboratory analyses was seen most commonly an increase of hepatic enzyme (AST, ALT) and was seen lower level of platelets and leucocytes.

Dr. Marsida Krasniqi is a lecturer in the Department of Medical Science at Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës. Dr. Krasniqi has authored or co-authored the book of "Manual of Management of Refractive Errors" and over 35 publications in peer reviewed journals at regional, national and international conferences.
