Postextrasystolic Potentiation is a feature of excitation-contraction coupling of the heart. It has been known for over a hundred years but has only recently been systematically investigated. Recent research has provided great detail about its meaning, measure and how it may be used. This book presents that recent research and suggests additional applications of the phenomenon with particular emphasis on its application to treat heart failure or to guide cancer therapy.
