Beschreibung

Synthesis of nitrogen and sulphur heterocycles is of current interest because of their broad spectrum biological activities. The heterocycles such as 1,5-benzothiazepine, indole, azetidinone have gained attention of medicinal chemists due to their use as drugs and medicaments in a large number of diseases. The thesis work reports design and synthesis of these mentioned pharmacologically active heterocycles and coupled heterocycles bearing appropriate pharmacophores needed for anti convulsant, CNS depressant and antifungal actvities. The aromatic rings, heterocyclic substituents and one / two heterocyclic moities are coupled and developed via the necessary pharmacophoric groups, required for the respective activity. The combination of two heterocyclic moities is done with the hope of obtaining more potent and efficient derivatives giving synergistic, enhanced pharmacological activity. The green chemistry tools such as Microwave, Ultrsound synthesizer, solvent-free reactions are used so as to avoid pollution of surroundings. Eco-friendly, neat clean synthetic strategies and protocols are planned in such a way to avoid chemical wastage and maintain pollution-free surroundings
