Herbal medicines in treatment of cancer as complementary and alternative therapy are accepted increasingly with growing scientific evidences of biomedical research and clinical trials. Anticancer drugs discovered from herbal medicines have a long history and some of them have been used in clinical setting as the conventional anticancer drugs. Actually, herbal medicines are a source for anticancer drug discovery and drug development. Thus the book review about the medicinal plants that are reported against cancer and also the anticancer activity of some medicinal plants.

Dr. B. Arul is working as a Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice in Vinayaka Mission's College of Pharmacy, Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation, Salem. During his tenure he published his research work in 8 National and 61 international journals. He also authored 2 books in the areas of Mucoadhesion and Cancer.
