Beschreibung
Scrub typhus is an acute febrile illness of variable severity that is caused by Orientia [formerly Rickettsia] tsutsugamushi. It is transmitted to humans by an arthropod vector of the trombiculidae family. Tsutsu means small and dangerous and mushi means insect or mite. Humans are accidental host in this zoonotic disease. Diagnosed with Serological tests, Weil-Felix test, Indirect immunofluorescence assay, Western-blot analysis and IFA SDS-PAGE, Qualitative enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, Real time and nested PCR. Treatments include Primordial prevention and treatments with antibiotics.
