Revision with unchanged content. Demographic trends point to an increasing number of older people in need of care and to a general decline in the number of persons available for family care. Due to societal changes, the remaining potential caregivers participate increased in the labour market, which makes eldercare to a workplace relevant issue. This work explores the implications of combining work and caregiving responsibilities from both the caregivers and the employers perspective. It presents the benefits that caregivers search for and describes the relevance and the potential that eldercare workplace support has. Furthermore, the reader will find examples of initiatives promoting the reconcilability of work and care. This book addresses employers, health professionals and policy makers who wish to understand the impact of the competing responsibilities of working caregivers and seek practical guidance for the conception of supporting measures.

is a qualified nurse, graduated in health sciences and holds a master's degree in public health from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Currently, she is working in research at the Agency for Quality, Research and Assessment in Health (AQuRA Health) in Barcelona, Spain.
