The issues of labour protection in the mines are taken very seriously because working conditions here are one of the hardest and most dangerous. This manual dwells on the important issues of labour protection and safety in the mines, with focus on minimizing the injuries and losses of working hours, and the material damages which could result from the inadequacy of the mitigation measures in place. On the issues of mine safety, it dwells on the characteristics and causes of traumas, and the methods of their analysis, investigation and generation of mitigations, as well as, on the creation of normal sanitary and hygienic conditions of working environments in the mines. On the issues of mine rescue, it dwells on the accidents which could happen in the mines, and on the development and deployment of rescue plans for preparedness against them in the futures of the mines.
Autorenporträt
Antipas Massawe and Savinus Maronga are PhD holders in Mining Engineering from Moscow State Mining Institute in 1989 and in Chemical Engineering from The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden in 1998. Massawe is a retired lecturer, while Maronga is still a lecturer of The University of Dar es Salaam.
