The Indian subcontinent has the largest concentration of tribal population in the world. Tribals have developed strong magico-religoius health care system and approximately in all indices of development, they are quite behind and maximum of them show prevailing dismal health condition. It is well know that health is a pre-requisite for human development and is an essential component for the well being of the mankind including the tribals. Keeping in mind, the above mentioned fact a modest attempt has been made through this book.The book is based on the proceedings of a national seminar Holistic Anthropological Approach for Tribal Health: Perception & Realization. It contains twelve papers. The contents of the research papers directly or indirectly related to tribal health. In view of its uniqueness, this book would be of immense use to general readers, academicians, health professionals and anthropologist alike.

Dr. A. N. Sharma is a well kwon Anthropologist. Presently, he is the senior most Professors of the Department of Anthropology and Director, Academic Affairs, Dr. H. S. Gour Vishwavidyalaya (A central University), Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. He has been involved in research since 1977. His areas of research are medical anthropology, tribal studies
