Lung cancer is one of the most commonly reported cancers, and is known to be associated with a poor prognosis. The role of macrophages in lung cancer, including alveolar macrophages (AMs), tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs) and monocytes, is multifaceted and the literature shows conflicting roles. This book is aiming to increase the knowledge regarding the characterization of the M1(classically activated) and M2 (alternatively activated) macrophage subsets in primary lung cancer and to demonstrate new potential biomarkers. This book would be useful to the people who are interested in research areas regarding lung cancer, molecular oncology, immunology and modern immunohistochemistry.

Dr. Almatroodi is an assistant professor at the Qassim University where he works at Medical laboratory department in applied medical sciences college. He is an expert in histotechniques, histopathology and oncology, which are the subjects he teaches and researches at Qassim University. He is the author of many scientific publications.
