The areas of cancer and infectious diseases have a leading position in utilization of medicinal plants as a source of drug discovery. Among Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved anticancer and anti-infectious preparations drugs of natural origin have a share of 60% and 75% respectively (Balunas et al., 2005). It is worthy to mention the vivid current interest in discovery of natural drugs for cancer treatment. L. Victoria's repertoire of Medicinal plants and herbalist fastens this discoveries. Within L. Victoria basin, plants and other natural products present a large repertoire from which novel antiproliferative compounds with low cytotoxicity effect can be obtained. The in vitro antiproliferative assays of four ethnobotanically selected medicinal plant extracts on the lung adenocarcinoma cell lines is herein described using MTT assay.
