Beschreibung

The aim of this book is to introduce the new treatment option for newborns delivered from mother with PPROM and PROM. The morbidity and mortality is higher in newborns delivered from mothers with PPROM and PROM compared with other women that did not have rupture of membranes earlier than 12 hours until delivery. The prospective study included women with PPROM and PROM longer than 12 hours and follow up of the newborns for morbidity treatment and mortality rate. Routine treatment option was based on general consideration and later on based on culture of blood or other liquids of the baby. We offered an earlier treatment option based on culture of membranes received immediately after delivery by section cesarea or vaginal delivery. The culture and antibiotics received from this culture was proved to be more accurate compared to culture from newborn liquids and routine and general consideration treatment. This idea will offer to the babies earlier appropriate treatment other than waiting for the results of culture later on when the signs of infections are clinically visible. This book is offered to medical students, doctors and residents of obstetrics and neonatology.
