The book provides an overview of psoriasis, its comorbidities and therapeutic options. Along with the classic cardiovascular comorbidities and the metabolic syndrome, it contains chapters on associations of psoriasis with neoplastic diseases, Crohns disease, psychiatric disorders, and renal transplanted and dialyzed patients. Sections like skin barrier and psoriasis, and psoriasis and pregnancy deserve attention as they are rarely presented in psoriasis reviews. Biologics and biosimilars are succinctly reported. The treatment focus is on some alternative and not so commonly used modalities. Rifampicin is an option for some specific psoriasis populations keeping in mind that further investigations are needed to establish its efficacy and mode of action. Last but not least, it is worthy to learn that the term psoriatic heart dates long before the recent breakthroughs on psoriasis and atherosclerosis. The book dedicates enough space to the recognized achievements of the Bulgarian dermatological school in the field of psoriasis such as psoriasis and drugs, rifampicin in the treatment of psoriasis, climatotherapy of psoriasis.
